MayDay 2017 Resources
Ohio Museums Association May Day Resources - Do One Thing for Disaster Preparedness
The Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (FAIC) is proud to carry on Heritage Preservation‘s MayDay initiative encouraging libraries, museums, archives, historical societies, and preservation organizations to set aside the first working day in May to participate in MayDay. This year, OMA is helping to make sure your institution is prepared!
For MayDay, OMA encourages Ohio institutions to explore the many disaster preparedness and recovery resources available on this page. MayDay is the perfect time to “do one thing” (or many things) to help prepare your institution for disasters and emergency situations.
It’s easy to take part in MayDay! Previous year’s participants held fire safety sessions, inventoried emergency supply kits, and created and updated disaster plans. These few examples are just the tip of the iceberg — there are so many ways you can participate, and we want to hear what you are doing at your institution! Send an email to [email protected] and tell us what disaster planning efforts you are taking at your museum.
We also encourage you to post your MayDay efforts, ideas and questions on our Facebook wall, and on Twitter. Be sure to follow #MayDayOhio and #MayDay2017 on social media, and use the hashtag for all your MayDay posts!
Keep watching OMA’s social media pages for more MayDay information and inspiration.
Best of luck in your MayDay activities! Let’s all do our part on MayDay 2017 to Do One Thing for Disaster Preparedness!
