    • Institution Description: Housed in the former residence of the lighthouse keepers and the Coast Guard Chief, built in 1871, the museum contains models; paintings; marine artifacts; photos of early Ashtabula Harbor, ore boats and tugs; miniature hand-made, working brass tools; and the world’s only working scale model of a Hulett ore unloading machine. The Museum offers an expansive view of Ashtabula Harbor.

    • Institution Description: David Snively built the Federal-style Pennsylvania House in 1839 along the newly constructed National Road. Dr. Isaac K. Funk, of Funk & Wagnalls fame, lived in the house in the 1840s while his father served as its tavern keeper. Closed as an inn after the Civil War, The Pennsylvania House then served as a doctor's clinic, boarding house, and secondhand shop before falling into disrepair. The Lagonda Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution saved it from demolition and has owned and operated it as a museum since 1939.

    • Institution Description: The Steamship William G. Mather was build in 1925 as a state-of-the-art flagship for the prominent Cleveland-Cliffs Great lakes fleet. A career highlight was in early 1941, when the Mather lead a record-setting convoy through the ice-choked Lake Superior to support the Allied cause. After retirement in 1980, the Mather underwent an extensive restoration and opened in 1991 as one of the only four Great Lakes freighter museum ships.

They and other interested people formed the Whitehouse Historical Society in 1970 to continue the restoration project. The house was restored and furnished with furniture of the 1840's period. The first floor gives an inviting homelike appearance. The second floor has been turned into a museum for memorabilia depicting history of Whitehouse and the Maumee Valley.

    • Institution Description: The Wolcott House Museum Complex contains six 19th century buildings. The only structure original to the site is the Wolcott House which evolved from a one and a half story log house to a magnificent two story, 14 room Federal style "mansion" between 1827 and 1836. Additional buildings relocated to the site include the Ohio Saltbox farmhouse built by Jarvis Gilbert in 1841; an 1850 log house; an 1880 railroad station with box car and caboose; a 1901 Gothic style country church and a c. 1840 Greek Revival townhouse which houses the museum store and historical society offices.
