What happened when the Columbus Museum of Art partnered with VSA Ohio to host two, full-day arts and disability conferences? Both institutions made progress toward achieving their missions, connected with new constituents, and grew programs. This OMA 2017 pre-conference session will lead you through the planning process and strategies for executing accessible events and programs. You will learn specific, easy changes museums can make to be universally welcoming. VSAO and CMA will discuss how they made things happen within their institution, challenges, and unexpected outcomes. Time will be set aside for dialogue, when attendees can ask specific questions about current accessibility efforts at their institution.
