Join OMA and Museum Advocates Across the Country for Museums Advocacy Day 2018!

In 2018, federal funding for museums will continue to be a major issue and museums could also be significantly impacted by tax reform, education policy, infrastructure legislation, and more.

But legislators do not know how public policy impacts museums and the citizens they serve if they don’t hear it from you—their constituents.

Help us represent Ohio in 2018!

The Ohio Museums Association is proud to once again act as a supporter sponsor of Museums Advocacy Day. The stakes have never been higher. Help make sure museum are at the table not on the table in 2018. Join OMA, and museum advocates across the country for Museums Advocacy Day, February 26-27, 2018 in Washington D.C.

Museums Advocacy Day is a critical chance to make a unified case to Congress about the value of museums, and a unique opportunity to invest in yourself and build your own advocacy skills. The American Alliance of Museums provides policy briefings and schedules your meetings on Capitol Hill.

Join us in Washington, D.C. for the 10th annual Museums Advocacy Day and help make sure museums are at the table not on the table in 2018.

Will you be there to share your museum story with your legislators?

Constituents are the best advocates. In fact, polling from the Congressional Management Foundation confirms that constituent visits still have more impact on legislators than any other influence group or strategy. It’s up to every museum supporter to make the case to Congress and tell your story about the critical role the museums they represent play in our communities. The American Alliance of Museums makes it fun and easy, providing policy briefings and scheduling your meetings on Capitol Hill. Learn more about why you should participate and see past Museums Advocacy Day materials, honorees and more. Participating can also lead to unexpected success stories.

Registration is FREE for members of all Co-Convener, Leader and Partner organizations - including AAM, AASLH, AZA, ASTC, ACM, AAMD, APGA, AMM and more! Book your room in the Museums Advocacy Day block to take advantage of the special discounted rate.

We hope to see you in D.C. this February as we take to Capitol Hill to speak up about the value of museums in Ohio, and across the nation.
