Meet the Board: David Walker

David Walker, Business Development Liason, FORM

Tell us a little bit about where you work and what you do there?

I am a Business Development Liaison at FORM. We are a digital marketing agency that works exclusively with arts & culture organizations and nonprofits. We help museums with both patron and donor engagement. We also design and develop technology to help maximize the visitor experience.

What is your earliest museum memory?

I remember my dad taking me to the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland when I was about 8-years old. I wanted to touch the cars and my dad had to keep grabbing my hand to stop.

What led you to go into the museum field?

I have always been a visual person with a love of history. Museums satisfy both these passions. Seeing the art and then learning the backstory is fascinating.

What is your workspace like?

It’s a very cool space. We have a large loft overlooking the first floor. Lots of glass. High ceilings. Modern, architectural feel.

What item in your office can you not live without?

Mac computer

Describe your favorite work memory. What was your best day like?

We do an Easter egg hunt every Easter at FORM. The eggs are filled with money and special prizes! It’s a blast running around collecting them.

What does your dream museum look like?

I think the Cleveland Museum of Art is pretty darn close to what I would dream up. It offers both a traditional museum experience but also all the latest digital technology for people who enjoy that type of museum adventure.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Love your neighbor like yourself.

 What are you currently reading?

“The Fall of Crazy House” by James Patterson. I’m a sucker for detective novels.
