2023 OMA Conference Social Media Ambassadors

The Ohio Museums Association knows a conference isn't just about sessions and speakers, it's about making connections, sharing ideas, and sparking conversations - and OMA is looking for vibrant online museum voices to help us do just that in 2023!

New for 2023, OMA is excited to unveil our Social Media Ambassador program. Our Social Media Ambassadors will help create a robust online presence during OMA2023 - both for folks joining us in-person in Newark-Lancaster, and for those not able to attend the conference.

Ambassador Benefits:
Social Media Ambassador benefits include all Sunday and Monday conference activities and registration (attendance required), along with a 2023 Individual Membership to the Ohio Museums Association. If the Ambassador is able to attend, Saturday Tours will also be included.

Conference travel/sleeping rooms are not included in the fellowship, but can be purchased seperately.

Ambassador Responsibilities:

• Attend pre-conference Ambassador Training (via zoom)
• Participate as a panelist in the March #OHMuseumChat on "Gearing Up for #OMA2023," Thursday, March 16, 12pm-1pm
• Submit at least one social media post prior to OMA2023
• Post on your social media handles throughout the conference
• Take photos to share throughout the conference (photos will also be uploaded to a shared drive)
• Write one article for the OMA blog after the conference

To apply for an OMA 2023 Conference Fellowship:

Applicants must be currently working or volunteering at an Ohio museum, or students or professionals currently seeking a career in museums. Applicants must submit the following information as their application packet:

• Ambassador Application Form
• Current Resume (2 page limit)
• Complete the following essay questions (150 words or less per question):
  
  • What do you hope to get out of being a Social Media Ambassador
  •  What perspective do you bring to the conversations at the conference?
  • How will you plan to share your OMA 2023 experience?
