Museums are indispensable education partners for our schools, but in the age of COVID, field trips and traditional school outreach might not be possible.
How can museums adapt to working with schools when they can’t come through our doors and we can’t physically go to them? How can we change our mindset about school outreach to meet the needs of our teachers and students, and readjust to this new normal?
Speakers Khaz Finley and Elle Benak from the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s Learning Center and Money Museum, and Carla Mello of the Ohio History Connection will talk about the ideas, examples, and prototypes currently being explored by both a small and a large museum, and how museums of all staff and budget sizes can think about adapting their education programs.
About our speakers:
Khaz Finley is the Education and Museum Outreach Supervisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's Learning Center and Money Museum.
Elle Benak is the Education and Museum Outreach Associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's Learning Center and Money Museum.
Carla Mello is the Department Manager for School and Teacher Support at the Ohio History Connection, and the Ohio Council for the Social Studies Conference Director.
