#CelebrateOhioArts with OMA and POBA this November

This November, we are celebrating Ohio museums and artists in an exciting, month-long campaign.  Through #CelebrateOhioArts and #OhioMuseums, all participating members will be able to enjoy and share a terrific campaign to highlight, display and promote the cultural richness and diversity of Ohio to our fellow Ohioans and a wide national audience.  Created specifically for Ohio in partnership with POBA | Where the Arts Live, a nonprofit dedicated to keeping creative legacies alive, #CelebrateOhioArts is an outgrowth of POBA’s longstanding partnership with the Ohio Arts Council, also co-supporting this campaign.

Promotions and PR help

#CelebrateOhioArts will offer each participating institution comprehensive social media and online promotions as well as traditional PR support for their submissions to this program. Participating museums will nominate 1-3 artists represented in their collections who will then be:

  • Featured in blog posts and on social media by OMA, POBA, and participating museums
  • Featured in online display through POBA that will last well beyond the month of November.  POBA will promote these displays to bring continued attention to Ohio’s great heritage.

Participating is easy! Starting November 1, simply use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to post images by each of your nominated artists, using the tags #CelebrateOhioArts and#OhioMuseums. Be sure to tag @OhioMuseums and @POBAWhereArtsLive in your posts too so we can share them!  Museums with blogs will also have access to a blog template that will help them announce their artist nominees and introduce them one by one.

Building Recognition, Supporting Ohio Arts

#CelebrateOhioArts will also offer helpful tools to help you take full advantage of this unique initiative to promote and support each other’s exhibits and collections during this celebration. In addition to POBA’s Co-Managing Director joining us for our October twitter chat on Promoting Your Collections on October 19, OMA and POBA will also offer afree webinar October 23 from 10 -11 am led by a POBA’s expert in social media for the arts. The webinar will cover best practices for use of email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, and provide step-by-step tips on how Ohio museums can promote their own collections and support each other via social media and email through the#CelebrateOhioArts program. For more information about this webinar, or to register, click here.
